Library
Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP) libraries can play a vital part in successful study and research. TPP are constantly developing and adding new resources to provide up-to-date information you need to support your study.
The library staff are here to assist you in developing the information, research and study skills you need to successfully complete your course or qualification.
What can I borrow?
TPP’s central library collection at Greymouth Campus features books, reference material, magazines, DVDs, videos and daily newspapers, along with access to online research databases. The holdings primarily reflect courses offered on the West Coast, and includes various general reference material.
Both MAINZ Auckland and Christchurch have small library collections of music-related resources – books, DVDs and CDs - to support the Music and Audio programmes. Emergency management library resources are held at EMD Palmerston North; and ski patrol resources at the Wanaka Campus.
The Library Catalogue is available online at http://library.tpp.ac.nz
Distance student library support
For students at other sites or campuses where the collection is not meeting your needs, TPP provide a free delivery and return service from Greymouth Campus for course-specific books and material for study.
InterloanWhere onsite resources cannot satisfy your requirements for information, we may be able to obtain resources from other libraries on your behalf. This is a free service provided your request is course-related.

Your student ID card is also your library card. Please have this with you. If you don’t have one please ask the library staff who can give you a temporary card so you can borrow immediately.
Borrowing
Books are issued for 3 weeks.
Students may borrow up to 10 items at a time. In some instances library staff reserve the right to reduce this limit. TPP do not charge overdue fines, but if 8 weeks has passed and items are still outstanding you will be charged for the full cost of the book/s you borrowed.
Renewals
If you are still using a book after 3 weeks, the library staff can extend your loan for a further 3 weeks, providing it hasn’t been reserved by another student.
Reserves
If an item is on loan, you may reserve it. When it is returned the library staff will let you know and put it aside for you to pick up (or send to you if neccessary).Where are we?
The Greymouth TPP Library opens into the atrium at the far end, opposite reception. The attached computer suite has 14 work- stations and two smaller individual study rooms.
Both MAINZ Auckland and Christchurch Libraries are adjacent to reception.
