Overview 

This task will enhance understanding of how to analyse evidence for programme self-assessment. 

Guidelines 

Basically, you will most likely come across both quantitative (numbers) and qualitative (text/talk/observation) to inform your PSAR.  Analysing data involves asking questions of it such as: 

• What is this an example of? 
• What does this information tell me? 
• What does it not tell me? 
• How does it relate to the KEQs? 
• What further questions do I need to ask of the data? 
• Does the data tell me about relationships/causes between events/issues? 
• How do these relationships/causes relate to the KEQs? 
• Why is this data interesting? 
• What does this data tell us about the programme that is different to what we knew before? 
• How can we best use this information within the PSAR? 

As a programme team, locate some examples of data and apply some of these questions to it. 

If you think of additional questions record those so that you can use them again and remember what was new that emerged from this data.

For now, save this information in a place that you can easily access it in preparation for use within the next section of the module.

Use the shared PSAR folder as a central storage location for all related documents.
