This is the home page for Ski Patrol. It creates your automatic enrollment for all the separate courses within the Ski Patrol programme.
In this first phase of the programme you should begin your learning with;
SP402 Physiology and Health -
- here you are aksed to design and implement a physical training programme to ensure you are in the best condition possible when you arrive in Wanaka. This is really about injury prevention and giving you the best possible chance to succeed in your studies.
SP501 Meteorology -
- here you are asked to begin the habit of paying attention to the weather and making regular recorded observations. This is what Ski Patrollers do everyday - so get in the habit early!
SP405 Slope Management -
- here you are tasked with practicing knots that you need to be competent with when you arrive as well as becoming familiar with some risk management theory and reflective practice.
SP503 Avalanche Geography -
- here we get into the nitty gritty of why Ski Patrollers exist.
All of this work needs to be completed before you arrive in Wanaka on 20th April.
Begin now by going to SP402 Physiology and Health and getting started on a training plan.
