Welcome to Annabel's Tutor Toolbox. I made a decision last night to shift this to the new trial Moodle 2.2 server. Nicer, easier to use. The chances are most of those who come here will go straight to Moodle 2.2 anyway.
As Annabel has said, this is a work in progress. There are sections here on a few critical areas in being a tutor. Have a read. Please let us know what you think, either here or talk to Annabel or e-mail annabels@tpp.ac.nz.
Learning to think like a tutor is not a trivial activity. Figuring out what you don't know is a paradox. But these readings and videos are a good place to start.
Also, if you have a comment, question, suggestion or a link to share: post here.
I'll have a page up soon "Editing your profile" and a little more help information. But the basics are this:
- You can't break Moodle.
- You may get a little lost, but use the breadcrumbs, and your "My courses" link when you need to.
- Read the pages from the top down, and if there is something that is weird or doesn't make sense, tell me.
- Breathe.
This kind of activity (reading online, thinking/reflecting, and making some posts in a forum) can enhance our professional learning, and may even be fun.
Meanwhile, enjoy!!
